Travel sketching
in Genoa, Italy

22 to 25 May 2020

Capital of Liguria, in the region in the northwest, Genoa is the first port of Italy.

Known for its central role in maritime commerce for centuries, Genoa is today a city of contrasts, dynamic and housing a rich cultural and architectural heritage, with its old town listed as a World Heritage Site.

During these 4 days of drawing, we will walk through the streets of Genoa, our drawing material in hand.
We will explore our tools, and experience different drawing techniques, in order to awaken our sensitivity and stimulate our creativity.

We will discover, or remember, some basics of drawing, such as perspective, depth and composition, and forget them deliberately to make our drawings more spontaneous.

We will draw in different neighborhoods of the city, in search of themes and environments characteristic of the city: architecture, street environments, urban panoramas, life scenes, details, characters, etc.
